'Every mare
owner needs that peace of mind when
their girl goes to stud - ideally, we
all want the chosen stud to have a
wealth of knowledge, experience, a kind
hand and a safe atmosphere - I certainly
did. Elvingston stud is surrounded with
beautiful, clean green pastures, and
when we dropped off Sonata, I realised
that as well as being a stud, it was
also a relaxation Sanctuary! If there
was ever a bad point I could say about
Elvingston, it would be that my horse
loved her new found friends so much, she
snorted when she saw us driving up the
runway to take her home, and stomped her
foot in disgust when we tried to load
her!
We choose Aries since this was Sonata's
first foal and we wanted to breed her
with a gentle stallion who also shared
similar characteristics - Aries does
have a 'WOW' factor about him, marching
out of his stable with his head held
high strutting his stuff like the
handsome movie star he is. However, he
never at all lacked respect for his
handlers and always portrayed
himself as an easy to handle horse who
was polite, gentle yet adored love and
attention.
I am very
thankful at choosing Aries as our
filly's Sire - the combination of two
equally matched horses has produced an
amazingly affectionate filly with so
much trust in everyone around her, and
so much determination to be praised for
her good behaviour! If you are
looking for a new addition to the
family, a horse who will be a pleasure
to work with, who never ceases to
impress, and who possesses the pride and
elegance of its father, I would look no
further than Aries at Elvingston stud.'
