Her
dam, Dixie Chardonnay by Eugano
(Lugano van la Roche) was an
outstanding jumping mare with
scope to burn. She was quick
thinking, agile and very
rideable. She should have gone
to the top in Showjumping, and
had just begun her BSJA career
in earnest when she had to be
retired due to a tendon injury
sustained in the field.
This very special filly is the
first foal to be sired by our
young stallion Freckleton
Enchilada and the first member
of the 'Chili Club'. She is out
of Cortijera XXIII, a PRE
Andalusian imported from Spain.
Habanera is friendly, bright and
alert. She has excellent
conformation as can be seen from
the photos of her at just a few
hours old. Her distinctive
colouration may develop into
grey, chestnut or dun. This
striking filly will excel at
dressage and showing and should
make 16.1hh.
